Flower
Part 1: flower (with white yarn)
1) MR
2) 5 sc into the MR
3) close the ring (not too tight)
4) slpst in the 1st sc
5) ch 3, then make 1 tc (in the same stitch), 1 ch, slpst in the top of the tc, then again make 1 tc (in the same stitch), 1 ch, slpst in the top of the tc, again make 1 tc (in the same stitch), 3 ch, slpst in the next stitch
6) repeat that pattern 4 more times to have 5 petals in total: 3 ch, (1 tc, 1 ch, slst in the top of the tc)x2, 1 tc, 3 ch, slst in the next stitch
7) Finally finish off (pull the yarn, cut it leaving a tail, and tighten it). Then hide the left yarns (weave or use other method)
Part 2: details (with pink yarn)
1) Cut a long piece of yarn and insert it in your needle,
2) Pass through the center of the flower (the little hole of the MR) and leave a medium tail of yarn at the back
3) Sew in the center of the flower: 1 long line on each petal, return through the center, 1 short line between the petals
4) When you finish, return to the back of the flower.
5) Finally, hide the left yarns through the back (weave them) and cut the excess.
String
Start with MR
6 sc into the ring
slpst in the 1st sc
then hide the left yarn of the MR (weave or use any method you like)
Now start making chains, they have to be as long as the height of your book. When you finish, ch 1, cut your yarn leaving a long tail, pull it and tighten it.
Attaching flower and string
Now we will attach the string to the center of the flower (watch the tutorial for a detailed step guide)
1) insert your yarn into the needle
2) grab the flower, flip it over (to see the back) and pass through the center
3) return and pass through 1 ch of the string (the closer to the flower), then pass through the little circle that was formed and tight it
4) now we have make a knot, to secure it pass side to side with the yarn through the stitch of the knot (various times to make sure it won't slip off)
6) finally cut the excess
